Duties/Responsibilities: Primary responsibility is infection control. Maintain sterile technique. Perform all duties according to procedure. Cleans, sterilizes, packages and assembles instrument sets.
Responsible for waste disposal and decontamination of contaminated items. Inspects equipment and instruments through all procedural steps for condition and operation.
Demonstrates a working knowledge in the following areas in a surgical preparation environment: vascular, ophthalmic, laparoscopic, orthopedic, O.B./Gynecology, General, Urology, Dental, E.N.T., neuro and plastic. Participates in ongoing education programs. Demonstrates knowledge the function and operation of equipment in a Central Sterile environment. Attends/completes Job Certification Program and documents all hospital mandatory in-service programs, i.e., fire, safety, infection control, etc.
Registration/Certification: Certified Central Service Technician (CRCST) issued by International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management (IAHCSMM)
Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.
NO local travelers will be accepted (cannot reside within 50 mi from the facility)
