Join PCHC’s dedicated Health Information Management team as a Release of Information (ROI) Specialist! In this vital role, you’ll be the trusted point person for processing all requests for medical records—delivering accurate, timely, and secure service while navigating policies and regulations with confidence. We’re looking for a detail-driven professional with strong follow-through, a positive attitude, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm

Highlights of the position:

  • Provides excellent customer service by demonstrating kindness, professionalism, resourcefulness, and proficiency, ensuring work is patient-centered and mission-focused.
  • Accurately and efficiently responds to and processes release of information requests, ensuring delicate care and discretion while safeguarding private patient information.
  • Is a good steward of health information management and follows all appropriate protocols. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of HIPAA, State and Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, and applicable policies and procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining compliance with quality assurance standards.
  • Is flexible in adapting to the needs of the HIM department, stepping in to answer phones, providing support with patient requests, and more.
  • Engages and supports patients to ensure they feel heard, respected, and involved in their care and experience.
  • Collaborates to improve the patient experience and processes related to release of information. Reports concerns, identifies opportunities, and forwards recommendations to Leadership for review.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s degree or certificate in health information management or health information technology preferred.
  • One year of experience in a medical office strongly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of HIPAA, State and Federal Regulations related to release of information required.
