Public Service Worker Sr (Streets and Roads)

SALARY

The minimum salary is $16.587 per hour
This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.
Pay Grade 510

This position is eligible to receive hazardous duty supplemental pay at $90/month ($0.52 per hour)  upon hire.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this classification is to perform manual labor in relation to the general maintenance and repairs of LFUCG property and infrastructure such as facilities, equipment, grounds and city roads; and, lead or oversee a small work crew as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent


• Two (2) years of related experience


• Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provides maintenance in all seasons


• Operates trucks and assorted power equipment


• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on equipment


• Performs general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, digging, and moving materials


• Cleans, maintains, services, and conducts minor repairs on buildings, facilities and equipment


• Assists with any other manual labor tasks as needed


• Leads or oversees a small work crew as needed


• Works in emergency and weather response, and special events as needed


• Performs related work as assigned

SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.

• Valid Driver's License


• All positions are required to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B and Endorsement N - Tank Vehicles within the first six (6) months of employment

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.


• Must be accessible for on-call duty and be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned and during emergencies.


• Positions are required to perform snow removal duties during weather emergencies.
