Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and diligent Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in the property management industry. This role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records and fostering positive client relationships. As part of our team, you will process customer payments, manage account records, and assist in maintaining smooth financial operations. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with solid math skills, accounting knowledge, and a commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Process and record customer payments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all account payments and statuses.
  • Send reminders and follow-up communications for overdue payments, including statements and 3 day notices.
  • Research and resolve any account discrepancies, taking the necessary steps to address issues.
  • Generate clear and accurate financial reports on a weekly basis.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accounts are current, gather additional information, and develop repayment plans when necessary.
  • Maintain open communication with clients regarding account status and payments.
  • Maintain tenant records, including new tenant move-ins, update tenant info, etc. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Prior experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk, preferably within property management or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., Yardi, QuickBooks, Appfolio, or similar).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and industry best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to perform detailed research as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a commitment to excellence.
