Join Our Team as a Lab Director

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for science and operations? We’re seeking a Lab Director to oversee one of our high-performing laboratories generating over $10M in annual revenue. This individual will play a key role in driving operational excellence, ensuring quality compliance, and delivering outstanding client service. Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of a high-volume lab or multiple labs, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely turnaround of microbiological and chemical testing.
• Act as the primary point of contact for laboratory clients, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries, concerns, and service requests.
• Own the lab’s financial performance, including managing a P&L of $10M+ to ensure continued profitability and operational efficiency.
• Champion ISO 17025 compliance and the implementation of our Corporate Quality Management System.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab environment; oversee building and equipment maintenance in compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Drive a culture of safety through continuous monitoring and enforcement of the Laboratory Safety Program.
• Hire, lead, and develop a team of 40–60 laboratory professionals; conduct performance reviews and support career growth and development.
• Guide non-routine client projects and special assignments with a high degree of technical competence.
• Stay current on scientific advancements, industry trends, and regulatory changes to maintain technical expertise and drive continuous improvement.
• Communicate regularly with clients on capabilities, pricing, results, and project updates.
• Travel occasionally to support business needs and cross-site collaboration.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Food Science (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of technical laboratory experience with at least 7 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven track record managing a P&L of $10M+ and strong business acumen.
• Expertise in food testing with hands-on knowledge of methodologies such as MLG, BAM, AOAC, USP, ISO, and CMMEF.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO 17025 standards and AOAC Food Guidelines.
• Familiarity with proximate and analytical chemistry methods and related instrumentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong quantitative, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Labware LIMS is a plus.
